For foreign visitors, the first question when they come to Japan probably will be why there are so many Japanese public bathings. For a feel of traditional downtown atmosphere in Japan, Fukunoyu is the place to go. Located right in the middle of Sendagi between Hakusan, this Sento, (or a public bathouse), has existed since long time ago but recently just got renovated few years ago,so looks very new!

The facility has undergone a renovation and it is now a barrier-free environment, equipped with banisters alongside the bathtub, so the elderly will be able to safely use the facility. You are also able to use hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and body soap for free.
There is very beautiful Aka-Fuji (red Fuji montain) painting on the back wall of the bathtub. After the bath, you can buy some drinks from a vending machine or counter. If you don’t have any bath set, don’t worry! You can buy everything you need for bath here as well. Please check it out!
