“Jizo-dori” is affectionately known as “The old lady’s Harajuku” named after “Harajuku”, the trendy shopping street for fashionable youngsters. Unlike ordinary shopping areas, this street features all kinds of goods preferred by grandma and grandpa. The shop in the picture is one of the main attractions of this street, which sells red lingeries. The red lingeries are believed to prevent senility, accordingly many aged people willingly buy them. When you get off the train at JR Sugamo Station, “Jizo-dori” lies right before your eyes. It is a good choice to visit here when you get weary of the routine destinations.
