Who won’t be surprised if you don’t know the story of this world-famous dog named Hachiko? The most faithful dog who used to wait for his master returning on the train every day from the adjacent Shibuya station even after his master died. Hachiko Statue, located just right outside Shibuya station is commonly known as the meeting place amongst locals. As a tourist, you surely wouldn’t want to miss the chance to take a shot with this bronze dog statue during your first visit in Japan.

Most of the time, there are both locals and foreigners taking turns in having a photograph with the statue of Hachi. The place is expected to be crowded because there is only one statue and several tourists. If you are lucky enough, you will be able to take a shot with the dog statue with no one around you.

Some people consider it as ‘just a statue’ but for those who fell in love behind the story of this statue it means so much especially for dog owners. There is another Hachiko statue outside the Tower Records a few minutes to the north, on the main street leading to Harajuku.
