You may have cap of coffee, talk with friends and relax in café. But what do you think if you can really relax in zero gravity in café?!

Kichijoji is renowned for its chilled-out atmosphere and perhaps the locals have cottoned on to what may very well be Tokyo’s only hammock café and gallery. Kichijyoji is about 30min from Shinjuku station. Mahika Mano in Kichijoji is actually a hammock showroom combined with a café! Have you ever heard this idea in other countries?

Hammock cafes appear quite popular with young women. Sitting in the hammocks has been described as “comforting.”

Mahika Mano is a quasi-showroom for distributors Hammock2000, where guests are invited to choose a hammock and settle in for a kip. There is time limit enforced.

Also operating as a gallery and event space, the café enforces a no children rule and offers a variety of Lohas-style health conscious meals, the menu detailing the nutritional benefits of each dish. Liquid refreshment comes via boutique beers, original herb cocktails and coffee and tea. You can of course enjoy the drink or food but you will be surprised this atmosphere with a lot of hammocks!

If you drop only for few minutes, then you will feel the time is definitely not enough. The place is only 5min to walk from the station, so you will not miss out! Interesting? Please check it out!
