Do you like to go camping? Do you like fishing? Yes, Japan is island as you know, so actually everywhere close to the sea or liver or lake, you can try fishing but there is easy place to do in heart of Tokyo! Ichigaya fishing center is located right next to Ichigaya Station, this well-stocked fishing hole has a special section for children. Tropical fish, marine plants and tanks are sold in the large aquarium shop next to the fishing area. Actually the place is situated inside the outer moat of the imperial palace.
Given its convenient location, the center is usually crowded with businessman during weekdays and families on holidays. Here you can rent a rod and took a seat by one of the concrete pools. There are 5 pools of different sizes. Each pool is about 1.5meters deep and stocked with carp for you to catch.
It costs 690 yen for men, 590yen for women and 420yen for kids for each hour’s fishing and everything you need is either available for free use or can be rented for a fee. There is the paste bait sold at center in 80yen. All you need to do is roll it into a tiny ball with your fingertips and thread it on to the hook. At this fishing center, you don’t get to take your catch home. Before leaving, you need to bring it over to the staff to have it weighed. You are awarded 1 point per kilo and if you collect 7 points, you get your next fishing session free. Right by the carp fishing area is a mini fishing pool filled with goldfish meant for kids and beginners. The fee is 400 yen for 30 minutes and they let you take home 2 goldfish out of your catch.
