There are so many parks in Tokyo as you have known. Today I want to introduce the park which you can do a lots of things! Are you interesting? Inokashira Park is located next to Kichijoji Station, straddles Musashino and Mitaka in western Tokyo.
Kanda River starts from this pond, and it is one of three Tokyo water supplying ponds. It offers lots of weekend activities. Many people visit here for family activities. In spring, Inokashira Park is one of the famous Hanami spots in Tokyo. It has also Plum garden. The land was given to Tokyo in 1913. On May 1, 1918, it opened under the name Inokashira Onshi Kōen, which was as, “Inokashira Imperial Grant Park”. Thus the park was considered a gift from the Emperor to the general public. This was the first time in Tokyo that a park was founded in such a manner.
At this park, you can ride the swan boats on the lake! It’s really cute and makes a lot of fun! But actually there is an urban legend which people believe all the couple who ride a boat on this pond will break up later because of the jealousy of Benten! Haha, do you believe?
The second thing, you can drop Inokashira Park Zoo. This is very small zoo broken into two sections for affordable 400yen, so quite suitable for all of families! You will get two separate tickets for both sections.
You can also visit the Benzaiten shrine which is very beautiful, especially during the cherry blossom season! You can definitely spend whole day here at Inokashira Park! Interesting? Please check it out!
